A Christmas Wreath of Appetizers

I suggest decorating your this Christmas dinner table with an unusual wreath of sea food instead of a platter with appetizers!
Your family or your guests will be appreciated!
Of course, feel free and replace any ingredient that is not to your taste!

Ingredients
(For 5-6 people)

For the Base
8 leaves of red Lola, washed and dried
1 cup rocket leaves, washed and dried

For the Wreath
½ red bell pepper
½ yellow bell pepper
100 grams Greek Feta cheese, cut into cubes
100 grams gruyere cheese, cut into Christmas trees
100 grams smoked salmon
2-3 slices sea pastrami (optional)
10-12 green olives, pitted
6 cherry tomatoes
3 cucumber pickles, cut in thick slices
1 tablespoon black olives paste
3 tablespoons cream cheese
⅓ teaspoon lemon zest
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
Salt and freshly ground pepper

Furthermore
3-4 pieces Arabic pita bread
Some toothpicks

Instructions

Preparation
Cut red bell pepper into stars and yellow pepper in small cubes.
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, olive oil, lemon zest and juice. Add a pinch of salt.
Cut Arabic pita bread in six heart or star shape. Then spread with cheese mixture and cut in half.
Cut also six smaller bread stars and spread with cheese mixture.
Cut 6 small pita bread squares and spread with olive paste pie squares. Cover with an asterisk of red pepper and stick a pickle slice with a toothpick.

Arrangement
Lay Lola and rocket leaves on a round platter.
Place ready pita bread squares in the middle of the platter.
Then arrange all the other pita bread pieces, half hearts and stars, cyclically and alternately.
On each half heart lay a piece of smoked salmon and on stars a piece sea pastrami.
Cover the gaps with cherry tomatoes, pieces of two cheeses, rocket leaves and green olives.

Sprinkle with yellow pepper cubes, a pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper.
Serve the wreath with your favorite cold white wine!

Cheers! Merry Christmas!
