Homemade Lemon Liqueur, Limoncello

An easy, very aromatic and delicious homemade liqueur, ideal to be served at the end of a festive meal!
Let’s prepare it because at this season there are many fresh and juicy lemons are in the markets.





Ingredients

8-10 organic lemons
The juice of two lemons
1 liter of vodka or white rum or gin

Syrup
500 grams sugar
500 ml water


Instructions








Wash lemons thoroughly and sweep.
















With a sharp knife or a carrot peeler remove carefully only the yellow skin and put into a sterilized jar.
Cover with vodka; add the lemon juice and seal.
Leave the jar for two weeks in a dark and cool place.









After two weeks, boil sugar and water for five minutes. (Time counts after starts boiling). Allow syrup to cool.
Then add cool syrup into the jar and mix well. Close the jar again and leave the liqueur aside for 24 hours to mature.

Strain the liqueur twice and keep into sterile bottles.
Serve cold.
